Hadimba Temple

Hadimba temple comes to top in the list of best places to visit in Manali. It is an ancient cave temple dedicated to goddess Hadimba, who was a wife of Pandava Bhima from the Mahabharata. The temple is surrounded by a beautiful cedar forest and it was built in 1553. About 100 meters away from the temple lies another monument, built in honor of Ghatotkacha, the child of Bhima and Hadimba. You can also take photos in this place as its surrounding area has beautiful trees and mountain. You can also get small funfair and market nearby.

Vashisht Hot Water Springs

Avoid winters by douche yourself in this natural hot spring, an amazing nature’s gift to humanity. Across the Beas River, about 3km from Manali, a small village/temple Vashisht with natural sulfur springs. The water tanks in the temple are underground sulfur springs. Hang up your trousers or bags on the hooks provided, avoid taking your wallet and important thing with you in the temple. Separate tanks are there for men and women in the temple. Kindly do keep in mind that these baths have no roof and little privacy is available for women for bathing.

Solang Valley

Solang Valley is one of the most famous tourist places to visit nearby Manali. Popularly known as Snow Point, is 14 km from Manali and famous for its 300m ski lift. It is a pictorial spot and also offers dazzling views of glaciers and the snow-capped mountains. Every year skiing festival held here and participants came from different parts of the world.

It also offers various adventurer activities like paragliding, zorbing, horse riding, etc. You will love to enjoy this place, especially in winters.

Rohtang Pass

This pass connects two beautiful places of Himachal Pradesh, Manali and Lahaul & Spiti. Awesome mixture of Hindu and Buddhist cultures. Rohtang pass is 50km far from the town of Manali, falls on the Manali Leh Highway. If you go further on this highway, you will see most spectacular passes.

This pass attracts people from all over the region to appreciate its beautiful views and fresh snow. Here you can also enjoy sports like skiing, skating, paragliding, snow scooter, and more.

Everyone needs to take permit to visit this pass, a day prior to your visit. There are two kinds of traveling permits, one is for traveling up to Rohtang Pass and the other one is for traveling beyond Rohtang Pass. Rohtang permits are also available online on website http://rohtangpermits.nic.in/.

Generally, Rohtang Pass is open for tourist from April to November and the permission to travel on this highway is given by the Indian Army, once they clear the snow.

You also might interested to hear that the Manali name was also derived from his name, who is believed to be the creator of the human race. It is popular among both Local and foreigners.

This is a must-visit place, because of its religious significance and its fascinating style of architecture. I would recommend going this temple via a walk, it’s about 3km from Main Manali Road. You will also find many shops on the way, which sells handmade things.

Club House

The Club House is one of the interesting places in Old Manali, famous for adventure activities and indoor games. The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) is managing the Club house. They have in-house restaurant and adventure activities like table tennis and Carrom, Skating, River-crossing, Boating, go-karting, etc. The timing of the Clubhouse is 10 AM to 8 PM, opened every day. One can also try their hand at zip-lining where one has to cross a river using ropeway.
